Celiveo High Availability applies to:
User Authentication
- Authentication cache at the printer level, encrypted, size is up to 1 million users
- “Cache first” and “Cache last” usage during chained authentication
- Cache contains the user ID (PIN/badge), login name, display name, AD groups and OU, @, department and no password
- That cache is usable even if the printer is disconnected by accident from the LAN
Pull Print
- When SQL Server is not reachable, printers contact directly the last PC known for a user to get his print jobs list
- No need to go through the WAN, no need for database replication, direct access to resources is fast, efficient and safe
Rules & Rights
- A user can only access functions access rules authorize him to
- Access control user rights are enforced even when the printer is offline
- Print rules also apply when Pull Printing High Availability mode is engaged
- Rules can be based on AD OU/groups
Usage Tracking
- For most printers their usage tracking is monitored at the printer level, not from a remote computer or server
- This guarantees the accuracy of the information
- If SQL Server is not accessible to store the tracking information, the data is kept in cache until the direct storage into SQL is possible.
