Legacy and other Xerox Printers

Celiveo 365 supports those printers using the Celiveo UPE IoT service (Universal Printer Endpoint) and smartphone authentication and interface to select/release/delete print jobs.
It is running on a Windows instance on intranet or Private Cloud.

Limitations:
Xerox EIP SDK used to interact with the Versalink and Altalink have a few limitations that affect some features.

  • The Xerox printers need to interact with a local computer that contacts the printer to open a session (and that shall never happen from the Cloud with an inbound connection for security reasons). The Celiveo 365 IoT UPE module (Universal Printer Endpoint) for Windows needs to be available on the network where it can communicate with the Xerox printer. One UPE can serve up to 500 printers at the same time and can be setup with failover.
  • Xerox printers can’t push their walkup activity log to the Cloud (copy, scan, fax…), those activity information won’t appear in the Celiveo 365 tracking.
  • It is needed to perform some printer configuration on the printer, that can’t be performed remotely
  • Any access to front panel requires a valid Celiveo 365 authentication method (card or IDCode), even for device configuraiton
  • There is no Celiveo 365 secure scan support for Xerox Altalink/Versalink MFPs
